Liz Hopkins is Program and Operations Manager for PoSI – and also its first employee. She comes most recently from the City of Portland, where she worked as program assistant to PDX Lounge in the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability. She also spent time at PDC, helping write the commission’s first sustainability report.
In addition to her work duties, Liz is active in Cascadia GBC’s Emerging Green Builders. She has helped write and implement the EGB regional design competition for the past two years and coordinated a yearly lecture series around the competition’s focus.
Prior to working in the public sector, Liz worked for two years at Mahlum Architects. She conducted daylighting studies for classroom design with the Integrated Design Lab in Seattle, compared green building rating systems around a case study of the nation’s first LEED Gold rated hospital, coordinated much of the office’s LEED documentation and built physical models.
Originally from the east coast, she came to the Portland region to attend Reed College, graduating in 2006 with a degree in physics. Her thesis work explored correlations between the quantitative and qualitative aspects of concert hall acoustics. |
