The Portland metro region boasts more than 30 years of leadership in progressive environmental and social policy, community redevelopment, civic engagement, natural resource protection and green job growth. For all of this, it is rightly recognized as an incubator and living laboratory of innovative urban solutions.

But we're not alone. Cities throughout the country are following Portland's lead and gearing up to trumpet their own innovations. Few rival Portland’s leadership today, but that could easily change if we do not tell our story with power and clarity. A robust communication strategy is critical to keeping the spotlight on our region and our regional efforts in sync.

Emphasizing the collaboration and collective expertise of our partners, PoSI will do just that. Working with project partners and regional opinion leaders, we'll help frame the regional sustainability agenda, create communication tools, and create links to critical, national discussions.

The result will be a culture of constant inquiry around globally-relevant leadership on urban sustainability, making it a learning destination for delegations across the globe. We'll continue to draw talent, ideas, experts and partnerships, feeding our pool of regional expertise and investment that will make Portland an international model.
