Steve Gutmann is Finance Innovation Director at PoSI, where he develops strategies to attract and deploy public and private capital to finance neighborhood-scale sustainability programs.

Prior to joining PoSI, Steve was Senior Commercialization Manager for EcoSecurities, a leading international developer of carbon offsets (Certified Emissions Reductions for compliance buyers with obligations under the Kyoto Protocol; Verified Emissions Reductions for pre-compliance and voluntary buyers). His primary responsibility was selling offsets to pre-compliance buyers in the U.S.

Prior to working at EcoSecurities, Steve was National Sales Manager for Flexcar (now Zipcar), the world’s largest self-service, by-the-hour car-sharing company. He has also worked as a Credit Analyst and Commercial Loan Officer at ShoreBank Pacific; a Commercial Energy Efficiency Auditor for Pacific Gas & Electric; a freelance travel writer; and as a high school teacher.

Steve lives with his wife and two daughters in Portland, Oregon. In his spare time he runs a small leasing company and volunteers on a range of environmental and community economic development issues. He earned his BA from Dartmouth College.
